Meet the Team
Shannon Frizzell is a graduate of the University of Guelph, completing a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. She then studied to become a Chiropodist and graduated in 1996, with the Julia Smith Award for Clinical Excellence. Post-graduate certification was achieved in Pharmacology, which allowed administration of substances by injection and prescription of oral medications.
Initially, she worked at the Toronto General Hospital. A year later, Shannon was offered a position with the Wellesley Hospital – which then became St. Michael’s Hospital – where she worked as part of the team in the Orthopedic Surgery and Wound Care clinics. Taking four years off to raise her two daughters, Reilly and Tess, she returned to work as Clinical Director at OOLab Inc. She held various positions at OOLab and eventually acted as the VP of Sales and Marketing. After ten years at OOLab and practicing part-time, she became the Medical Director for three Premier Clinics locations.
Utilizing her experience on the board and as a regulated health care practitioner, she has been able to develop the clinics into comprehensive and progressive clinical locations, offering patients the ultimate in products and technology available.
Shannon has always had an interest in community service and has been an active member of the board of the professional association representing chiropodists in Ontario:
• 1998- Board of Directors
• 1999-2001- President
• 2002- Executive Director
• 2014- present- Board of Directors
In 2005, she was presented with the President’s Award, for Outstanding Contributions to the Chiropody Profession.
Shannon is married to Timothy and they have 6 children; 4 sons and 2 daughters and live in Guelph, Ontario.
Mojgan Hejran started working at Premier Footworks in August 2016. She has an undergraduate degree in Health Studies and Integrative Biology from the University of Toronto and completed a Chiropody Program at the The Michener Institute.
Mojgan has previously practiced at private clinics, women’s shelters, community health centers, and done home visits. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and provides comprehensive care in the pursuit of getting the patient’s feet healthy, one step at a time!
During her spare time she enjoys reading novels with her favourite authors being Dan Brown, Steig Larsen, and Khalid Hosseini.
Calvin has been practicing as a chiropodist since 2011, but he remembers first paying attention to his feet back when he was a Queen’s University Life Sciences student trekking daily around Kingston. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in 2008, he completed his advanced post-graduate diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in 2011. Since then, Calvin has found that chiropody has been able to take his interest in anatomy and apply it in a setting where he can directly impart his knowledge and help others.
In subsequent years Calvin has been a member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists and the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine. When not at work, he also regularly volunteers for the Carefirst Diabetes Education Program, providing educational seminars in English and Cantonese languages. Calvin currently practices at both the Vaughan and Richmond Hill locations of Walk ‘N Comfort. He greatly appreciates the diversity of his patients, from the person with diabetes needing foot care to the student enduring long commutes with foot pain, much like he once was.
Alison Murakami has been with Premier Footworks since 2017. She has as undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University and graduated from the Chiropody program at the Michener Institute in 2001.
