Meet the Team
Laura chose a career in healthcare after she was diagnosed with scoliosis and told she would never run again. She was able to overcome my injury and run again. Being a runner, she has encountered many overuse injuries. Laura decided to choose a profession that helped others get back to their daily activities pain free.
When Laura first graduated from The Michener Institute in 2015, she practiced in Saskatoon, Rosetown and Kindersley, Saskatchewan. Upon working with a Podiatrist who had 30 years of experience, she was fortunate to obtain a wealth of knowledge in the field. She came back to Ontario to practice and train. Having the knowledge to optimize recovery and stay injury free, she was able to represent Team Canada for the Pan American Cup in Cross Country running and helped Canada win silver.
Due to her passion for running, her specific area of interest lies in sports medicine and biomechanics. She combines a functional approach with orthotic management to help treat and prevent injuries.
Mojgan Hejran started working at Premier Footworks in August 2016. She has an undergraduate degree in Health Studies and Integrative Biology from the University of Toronto and completed a Chiropody Program at the The Michener Institute.
Mojgan has previously practiced at private clinics, women’s shelters, community health centers, and done home visits. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and provides comprehensive care in the pursuit of getting the patient’s feet healthy, one step at a time!
During her spare time she enjoys reading novels with her favourite authors being Dan Brown, Steig Larsen, and Khalid Hosseini.
Calvin has been practicing as a chiropodist since 2011, but he remembers first paying attention to his feet back when he was a Queen’s University Life Sciences student trekking daily around Kingston. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in 2008, he completed his advanced post-graduate diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in 2011. Since then, Calvin has found that chiropody has been able to take his interest in anatomy and apply it in a setting where he can directly impart his knowledge and help others.
In subsequent years Calvin has been a member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists and the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine. When not at work, he also regularly volunteers for the Carefirst Diabetes Education Program, providing educational seminars in English and Cantonese languages. Calvin currently practices at both the Vaughan and Richmond Hill locations of Walk ‘N Comfort. He greatly appreciates the diversity of his patients, from the person with diabetes needing foot care to the student enduring long commutes with foot pain, much like he once was.
